Kelsey Kline - About Me

Hey y'all!

My name is Kelsey Kline, and I'm an actor based in New York City and Florida.

Since graduating in May 2022 with my BA in Musical Theatre, Performance and Directing, and a minor in Dance from Rollins College (go Tars!), I've been incredibly lucky to take on a range of opportunities — touring productions, theme park shows, regional theatre, and more. My time at Rollins was shaped by many roles, but none more deeply than Diana Goodman in Next to Normal as my senior show. Diana taught me that the most honest performances come from sitting with discomfort, and that strength can look fragile. That role became a touchstone for everything that followed — it's the reason I approach every character with curiosity rather than judgment, and why I believe even the most broken characters deserve to be seen whole.

In a very different world, one of my favorite recent credits includes playing Sally Brown in the national tour of A Charlie Brown Christmas. This experience, along with all my other tours and regional credits, has shaped not only my work ethic and stamina, but also my understanding of the world around me, making me the performer and person I am today.

Additionally, through my experiences I have developed a deep passion for swing and dance captain positions. There's something incredibly rewarding about being the safety net — stepping into any track at a moment's notice while still making the art look seamless. As a dance captain, I love the blend of leadership and collaboration: cleaning choreography, maintaining consistency, and helping the ensemble feel supported. These roles have taught me versatility, patience, and the joy of lifting up the people around me.

Beyond performing, I try to live by the mantra of giving kindness without expecting anything in return. That practice makes me a more empathetic human being, and it carries into my storytelling as an actor. At our core, humans have a deep need to be seen, heard, and understood — and every character we play onstage shares that need. Whether written as "good" or "bad," each character has dreams, desires, and a wish to be respected. I believe that if we take the time to truly see one another and have honest, respectful conversations, the world will be a more inclusive place — both onstage and off.
